Recently I met my American friend, Andrew. We talked in English because my English is much better than his Korean. Even so, my English is still bad, so our conversation became almost like "performing arts". In spite of that language barrier, we even had a conversation of "Life", and we were running out of time very soon and promised to see each other soon again. The importance of language can not be overemphasized for communication between people. But then, linguistic skill is one of the easiest terms for a meeting of minds. Even though we are same Koreans or Americans, if we have no common interest or if we have conflicting interests, the relationship (even with a family member or a compatriot) will be worse than one with foreigner. Thus the heart of communication is connecting minds.
